Veterinarians

Dr. Ken Lawrence, DVM

Dr. Lawrence is a 1984 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. He opened Texoma Veterinary Hospital in July 1984. His family includes his wife, Mary, and their two sons, Scott and Kyle. Dr. Lawrence is active at his church, Western Heights Church of Christ. He enjoys studying and teaching in the areas of marriage enrichment, creation and evolution, and general Bible study. He is also involved in the church’s Celebrate Recovery ministry. His hobbies include teaching at church and tinkering with computers.

Dr. Lawrence is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice. To be a member of the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice, Dr. Lawrence attends an average of 50 hours of continuing education each year. He has a keen interest in alternative therapies such as ozone, laser, and nutritional support for diseases.

Dr. David Tidwell, Dipl. ABVP

Dr. Tidwell is a 2000 graduate of Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. He joined the staff at Texoma Veterinary Hospital in May of 2000, where he loves practicing veterinary medicine. Dr. Tidwell is a boarded specialist in small animal practice and a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. His areas of interest include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and reproduction. Although Dr. Tidwell is a boarded specialist, he still enjoys providing preventative and routine care to his patients.

Dr. Tidwell and his wife, Jennifer, met in college and have been married for 24 years. They have two active kiddos: Jacob, who is currently attending Texas A&M, and Claire, a senior in high school. They have three rescued dogs: Wendy, Andy, and Jasper. The Tidwells are very active in their community and are active members of Georgetown Baptist Church in Pottsboro, where Dr. Tidwell serves as a Sunday School teacher and deacon.

Dr. Tidwell is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. He is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, Texas Academy of Veterinary Practitioners, and American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.

Support Staff

Samantha Garrison, Practice Manager

Samantha is our Practice Manager. She started with Texoma Veterinary Hospital in 2017. She is married to her husband, Josh, and they have three boys–Colten, Kaden, and Logan. Their family also includes 3 Great Danes–Zander, Laney, and Stella! She also has a toy poodle named Marley and 1 cat named Alley! When not at work, she enjoys time with family at the lake in their RV, watching wildlife on their property, and pretty much anything outdoors. Samantha is very involved at her church, Trinity Lighthouse, and volunteers with the media department.

Whitney Cooper, Lead Vet Tech

Whitney Cooper is the lead vet tech at Texoma Veterinary Hospital. She has been practicing for 13 years. Whitney prides herself in ensuring all her patients’ needs are met to the best of her ability. She likes to play with her pets in her free time, spend time with her sister, and go shopping.

Kayla Sockey, RVT

Kayla has been involved in veterinary medicine for 3 years and graduated from Murray State College’s Veterinary Technology program. She takes pride in the compassion she shows her patients and their owners and is an active advocate for her patients.

When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dogs, and reading.

 

Kendra Gravley, Vet Tech

Kendra has been a veterinary technician since 2003 when she started at Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center. She came to Texoma Veterinary Hospital in 2011. Kendra also works at Grayson County Animal Emergency clinic too.

Kendra is married to her husband, Francisco, and they have been together since 1999. The couple has two children, Emma and Brynlee, and the whole family is very active with basketball. For her part, Kendra loves to watch her girls and husband play basketball all year long! The family also has one dog named Bird, who is a Blue Pitbull. One interesting fact about Kendra is that she loves margaritas!

Christi Norris, Vet Tech

Christi is a veterinary technician with Texoma Veterinary Hospital and has been practicing vet-med for 16 years! She received her Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University and became an RVT/LVT through Murray State College. In keeping a calm approach with her patients, Christi makes them feel more comfortable in a strange place. She can be found dog training, spending quality time with 5 dogs & 6 cats, or partaking in various crafts during her spare time.

Ashley Clark, Vet Tech

Ashley is a veterinary technician here at Texoma Veterinary Hospital and has been in the veterinary field for 5 years. An alumna of Rogers High School, she prides herself in the quality care the shows her patients and her ability to educate her clients on their pet’s health and needs.

 When not at work, she has an active home life with her 4 boys. She enjoys spending time with them playing games or going to the lake. In those rare moments she has to herself, she loves to spend them reading!

Brittney Small, Vet Assistant

Brittney is a veterinarian assistant at Texoma Veterinary Hospital. She has been practicing for 10 years and attended Collin College. She prides herself on being very patient with animals and always giving them love and care. She is also good with phlebotomy. Over the weekends, she works as a bartender, but when she’s not working, she enjoys playing with her animals or playing video games with her friends. She loves to read and spend time with her family.

Courtney Barron, Vet Assistant

Courtney Barron has been practicing for 6 years and is currently a veterinary assistant with Texoma Veterinary Hospital. When it comes to veterinary medicine, Courtney takes great pride when especially sick clients are nursed back to perfect health while under the hospital’s care leaving their owner’s overjoyed. You can find her hiking with her dog, swimming, or sleeping in her spare time.  

Dusty Rockwell

Employed at Texoma Veterinary Hospital since 2005, Dusty has a bachelor’s degree in animal science. When not working, he enjoys softball, fishing tournaments, and volleyball. During lunch, you will usually find Dusty running at the local park. 

Jana Williams, Inventory Manager

Jana is our inventory manager at Texoma Veterinary Hospital. After graduating from Pottsboro High School and Denison Schools, she joined the veterinary field where she has been happily involved for over 26 years. Jana prides herself in the compassionate care she gives the pets she works with. She always tries to make them comfortable when they are in pain or scared, and she is always ready for puppy kisses!

In her spare time, she loves spending time with her beautiful 2-year-old granddaughter, Emelia. She also enjoys watching her son’s dirt track races with the whole family and loves to travel any chance she gets!

Janelle Baxter, Lead CSR

Janelle has been in the veterinary field for 15 years. She was homeschooled throughout high school and ended up training at Road and Riddle Equine Hospital for equine anesthesia under Dr. Jergens, DCM, DACVS in Colorado as an equine technician. Janelle takes pride in giving an unlimited amount of care and compassion to her clients and patients whenever they walk through the door. She takes deep pride in building long-lasting friendships and relationships as if they were her own family.

Laci Bandy, CSR

Laci Bandy is the receptionist at Texoma Veterinary Hospital. She has been with Texoma for 2 years and has also been in the equine industry for 2 years. Laci prides herself in being able to help keep patients feel comfortable and relaxed. In her free time, she loves being outside, riding horses, and playing with her dogs.
